Sent a couple of cheeky reply emails to drum up a bit of work and the interest is there which may be good. We'll have to wait and see though...

Headed up to town late and straight over to Brixton. The lovely Neil who I'd seen last night sorted me with an AAA for the Biffy Clyro show. Really needed it as it was a tough show to shoot compared to last year. Did not bad in the end and here's a little snap from after the show. Had a great chat with the guys, and even stayed for a few drinks with the ever hilarious Ian Winwood, Alistair, and 3/5th's of the Telegraphs. Caught the train home with Darren which seemed to take forever. Took even longer when some girl had a tantrum at the conductor on the Haywards Heath platform from the train. Maybe keep quiet and then the train will go??

Finished off a few errands with my Mother and Nick. Met up with Carly and went for lunch at the best vegetarian restaurant in Brighton Iydea. Did a few things at home before heading to town. After a quick stop in the office it was back over to RAK for part 2 of the guest vocal on the new Gallows record. Had a great chat with the band and Steph and I had a laugh about the crease face shot that sometimes happens in the mag! Hopefully he's not the lucky crease face in the next issue...

Had a good stir of the pot with Garth about the leafs and then called it a night. I think the early end and missing the Raw Power Christmas party had a little to do with our other Canadian friend Crown Royal who I hadn't tasted in ages!

A shot from yesterday's gang vocal session...

Monday, December 15, 2008

Hit town mid afternoon for a little gang vocals on the new Gallows record with the Cancer Bats. After we were all done at RAK took the Bats to the K! Office and then we all went on to the Raw Power dinner which was a party popping good time with the CB's, CJ and the crew! Had a cab not driven right by the pub I may have stayed later but it was way too tempting and got home before 11 after making the right trains...

A preview of the Cancer Bats Christmas tree shot we did last week that is out Wednesday in the Khristmas Kerrang!

A quiet little Sunday with a visit over to the Gma's. Laurence, my Mum, and Nick were all there to keep it interesting.

In keeping with yesterday another shot I thought turned out well this year!

Would have been really nice having the day off doing nothing with the Fish but it wasn't to be.

Had a shoot with the Arteries today and the Fish came down to help with the makeup duties and of course throw the art direction muscle down! Went well as they were well up for the idea, but who wouldn't be hanging in a pub?!? A massive thanks to the Hobgoblin who were more than happy to have us do the shoot there.

Had a mellow evening before dragging Carly back down for the show. Was good fun and the Arteries rocked out some amusing covers at the end. Crowd was well into it, especially the "not sure how much of the sex change was finished" person that was in full conservation with Carly!

Since it's getting close to fav shots of the year time here's one that I don't think I ever posted up here. It is from May when I was stuck in LA or maybe the caption of "somewhere in time" applies much better...

Another day at the office... Finally finished this run, only a few more jobs to go this year. Weird as it's probably been the busiest lead up to Christmas I've ever had before. Usually done by this point!

I'd put a few pics from this week's K! but it's full of the bands that always end up all over message boards on the internet. Yes it is stealing to post them you know! So how about a pic of the Bronx one of fav bands to photograph...

Thursday, December 11, 2008

The full day was put in and then headed over to the Underworld for Municipal Waste. Managed to wedge myself on the balcony by the stage and honestly any other spot would have been an absolute nightmare.

I've never seen so many people stage dive at a show before. The band couldn't even play whole songs as kids kept unplugging their instruments. Was a bit rubbish to be honest and thankfully got my shots and then made a swift exit all the way home...

One of the better stage dives of the night!

Wednesday, December 10, 2008

The usual day at the office with nothing too out the ordinary. Had some lovely news at the end of the day that Joby and Louise have had baby Hector today. I guess loads of photos to follow...

Went for a drink with Simon Sarin today. Haven't seen him in ages so it was a nice catch up.

A pic of the happy Olly from Johnny Truant which is in this week's K!

Tuesday, December 09, 2008

Joined the 845ers as I am filling in at the photo desk for the rest of the week.

Got right down to business and left some c&b drawings for Simon and Alex, actually even left them with some creative cut outs too!

After work headed to Roadrunner Records Christmas party at the Borderline. The house band for the evening was Trivium. After playing a full set they did a load of covers where people got up from the crowd. The one that made the evening was a delighted 13 year old that joined them onstage to sing one of their hits! Although the other highlight was Corey jumping in the crowd for a solo with the Fish...

Woke up Scott and we met up with the rest of the Cancer Bats at Starbucks. After getting some breakfast to go from Carly's new workplace we drove out to Battle.

Today's location was Snowtime Trees which you can see from the pic is a Christmas tree farm. Did a quick shoot with the Cancer Bats in the trees, and after we cleaned the mud off ourselves we saw a Mustang with Alberta licence plates which was very weird! Talked to one of the guys who worked there and he mentioned he had shipped it over to the UK after driving it across Canada!

The Bats were nice enough to give me a lift over to Lewes for a shoot with the Architects. Had a wander around the town with our guide Troy (Leander's brother) Shoot went well and then we made for a pub so Ryan could do the interview. Once I finally made it home passed out and had a hard time finishing the work that needed to be completed for tomorrow...

Sunday, December 07, 2008

Martha, Scarlet, and Tom came over and after a little Sushi and a wander down the pier got a call to meet up with the Cancer Bats. Did a quick shoot with them on the beach in a way I've always wanted to do and then back to ours for another setup in the new kitchen.

Scott was feeling very ill so we had him stay at ours for the evening as we are going to be doing another shoot for Kerrang! early tomorrow morning...

Still ill...

A pic of the Hot Melts in K! this week which with the instruments makes it...

Friday, December 05, 2008

Needed to get up to town for a job today but couldn't do it as I'm still feeling terrible. Haven't felt this sick in ages. So had a resting day while the last of the kitchen was installed. Finally finished, now just the floor...

Read this story today and I may have to forward it on to Donavon not making any accusations or anything, just saying!

Looked out for this photo of Tom up to his old tricks with Hinder in Las Vegas...

Thursday, December 04, 2008

Ill! To sick to work, which I didn't think happens. Couldn't go up to Manchester today which I was looking forward to with Ian and the King Blues... Hopefully well enough tomorrow to do the job in London.

Had an email from Tom, as he said looks like we went just in time! A pic from the Tsukiji Fish Market in September.

Wednesday, December 03, 2008

Sorted out a load of things today. Looks like I'll have a cover for the beginning of next year for a mag I've always wanted to shoot the cover for. Was supposed to have one about 5 years ago but at last minute the Nickelback shoot got bumped by Metallica!

By the end of the day started feeling quite sick hopefully a little sleep makes it all go away.

A pic from K! this week of Jett Black which we did back in June.

Tuesday, December 02, 2008

Left a sunny Brighton to go to a rainy London. Normally not an issue except the plan was to shoot outside today. Got up to Camden and met up with fellow Canadians and nice guys Beneath The Massacre. Mentioned something about Don Cherry which they took as me trying to be too friendly. I guess French Canadians don't dig him! Finished the shoot off and told them to go check out Primrose Hill as they were looking for some sites of London. Can see them all from there.

Hung about at the office and put in the shot from the earlier shoot. Once it was done went over to the Old Blue Last for Gallows and photographed the carnage as they called it... Also saw what could be the future to the emo/euro mullet haircut. Couldn't resist taking a pic and wondered how on earth they would actually see the gig!!!

Monday, December 01, 2008

It's always handy when the PR for a band who forgets to put you on the list for a show gets back to you 3 days after the day of the gig! Nice one mate!

Went up to Hammersmith Apollo again today to be a punter at the first of three Slipknot shows. Brilliant show, forgot how good they were! Nich from the 845ers came along with the Fish and I. On the way back we met up with Carly at Victoria who had been at a feet staring show in Camden so after a little BK took the train all the way home. A snapshot of the gig from our great seats. Psychosocial!

Sunday, November 30, 2008

The Harries family came for the day so had a great lunch and then Max beat us at the 4 way Mario Kart!

Caught a train up to Hammersmith Apollo and stood in the cold before asking if it was OK to use the toilet. I can't believe how shit and cattle herded photographers are treated on a regular basis. Always adds to the fun of shooting a gig, well actually not you fuckers!

Got a few good shots of Robert James Ritchie as the lighting was weird, spots that are always good and then some weird low angle light that looked like flash on some frames, had never encountered it before...

My fav shot from the evening here was when Kid Rock posed for the cattle at the end of our 3 songs...

Saturday, November 29, 2008

Burned through a few things that needed finishing today for next week.

Another shot from the secret location taken earlier this week...

Friday, November 28, 2008

Had troubles getting out of bed this morning. That hasn't happened in ages. Caught an earlier train as a last minute job with Airbourne came up. Nice guys but they didn't really like my joke about the Airbourne Zoolander. I couldn't resist as they only seem to do one thing for photos! Fists up party face...

Went for a few drinks with Alistair and Simon at the Ben Croutch. While there had a call from Dave to say we weren't on the list for the Far show at the ULU. Brilliant love it when a plan comes together. Luckily Alistair knew someone and we were sorted. Even with out a barricade it was great to shoot as Jonah constantly came right to the crowd. After a few songs headed home as it felt like it had been a full day of work! A shot from the show tonight...

Thursday, November 27, 2008

Another load of retouch today... Boring!

Wednesday, November 26, 2008

Had a few thank you emails from bands for the images in the mag this week. Doesn't happen too often so always nice when it does! More retouch way into the wee hours...

Tuesday, November 25, 2008

Retouch to infinity... It never ends!

Went out for the evening with Gez for some twiddly nonsense, I mean virtuoso guitar playing from Paul Gilbert. Great show and an absolutely amazing player! But I wanted to see some drill action and the only time he did it I was in the toilet!! Thank god for you tube...

Monday, November 24, 2008

Got picked up by Darcy and Gary from Telegraphs today. We then met up with Toby and the rest of the band before driving off to a secret condemned location for our shoot.

Was really good fun and because of our mission impossible precision didn't get caught by any security... Had a great shoot and then went for a little wander. Wish there were more bands up for going to locations like this!

Went for lunch and a few drinks and after the pub some peeps came by to get the fridge so a very productive day in the end.

A pic from the secret location...

Sunday, November 23, 2008

DIY was the name of the game today. The Harries family was supposed to come for a visit but apparently the roads were shit as there was snow in the London area.

Finished loads after doing the errands that needed to be done. Started most of the painting which needs to be finished before Thursday. It shouldn't be a problem as the jobs for the week have been booked at the beginning and the end... Would have preferred the dark and windy walk that happened last weekend!

Saturday, November 22, 2008

After having a late breakfast pretty much lunch Phoebe made her way home and we got on with all the usual weekend activities. Was a fairly relaxing one as I think most of the real work will be done tomorrow.

A shot of Atreyu that will be running in a Kerrang! near you...

Friday, November 21, 2008

A day of negotiating and catching a company in the middle of lies. Fucking nailed you MFI! Lying twice in one day you fuckers, well kitchen will hopefully be finished next Thursday because of calling them on it and telling them about themselves.

Phoebe came for a visit and we ended up ordering in some of the best Indian food from Spice Nutriment. And she wanted to make me look like one of her friends who shall remain nameless so she had a play with the hair...

Thursday, November 20, 2008

Posted some of our old appliances on a few selling websites. Why do people feel the need to text rather than call when they have questions? Annoying! It's a deal, it's a steal, it's sale of the fucking century...

Did a re shoot with the Hot Melts today. Went well and managed to get it right this time as they had instruments with them... Only took 20 frames as everyone was on it especially Jack who could probably get a job as a contortionist if his day job doesn't work out! Started chatting to Toby about a shoot for next week which sounds like it will be interesting trying to get into the location.

Wednesday, November 19, 2008

A day of errands and dealing with shit over the phone. The man at HSBC didn't like my response when he told me so you know about the charge to deposit foreign cheques... How you rip us off and have the cheek to call yourself the world's local bank? Patience level zero with these people!

Right the next matter and please forward this on to everyone you know. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT order a kitchen or any product through MFI. They have basically fucked themselves by not paying their suppliers of all the goods they sell. So now the suppliers won't deliver and people like us are stuck with half a kitchen... Brilliant! I might do a bit of picketing out front the store and get a news piece out of it next week! Beware you cunts you will get yours...

Went down to the Engine Rooms with Carly for a bit of In Case Of Fire and the Telegraphs. Here's Kerrang! from this week taken at Download 2006.

Tuesday, November 18, 2008

Last day at the office and have now heard the Chinese Democracy a few times... Not a bad record just wish it finished as strong as it starts. Popped on a hat I had bought in China that was still in the office and was told I had to wear it for the entire record.

At least Simon was nice enough to join in!
