The Kerrang! Awards were today so went for the annual Mexican lunch (so you can take on more alcohol and not get as drunk! Seriously give it a go, it does work!)

Went over to the Brewery with the Fish after running some errands, helped Paul Harries setup the formal backdrop shots and then it was time for the guests to arrive. They all seemed to come in waves and it was nice to see everyone. A night of the quick chat which is unfortunate but it's the way it goes when loads of snapshots are needed. Did have a good chat with Simon from Biffy Clyro, Slaves To Gravity, Serj, Cancer Bats and of course saw all the usual suspects who normally grace the pages of Kerrang!

My only complaint about the awards was the same as last year... I wish people would shut up and actually listen to the awards. Metallica and Rage Against The Machine were paying attention so no idea why others feel the need to talk loudly through the ceremony! (Won't name names but majority of the noise came from certain record company people...)

After the awards we went for the after party which was hosted in the worst venue in London! Egg (so you can avoid it!) had an entrance that involved a metal detector followed by a raping search and then hard questioning. Once they eventually let you in I tried to drop off my bag at coat check for 2 quid but they said if I need anything from the bag it would be an extra pound every time. Thanks for your polite help I'll keep my bag instead! Had a chance to have a longer chat to the bands that made it King Blues, Go Audio, 30 Seconds To Mars. As always though Carly, the Fish and I knew when to leave!
