Left San Diego early and headed for the Joshua Tree National Park which was a little out of the way but well worth the drive. Wish we could have spent longer there but the 100F heat and an evening flight meant having to get back to LA. One thing I'll be glad to leave behind in America is the annoyance that is filling a car with gas. You can't fill and then pay! It took at least two or more trips into the store every time, if only European cards worked at their pumps as there seemed to be confused tourists at almost every station.

Once back in LA went for a quick Jamba Juice and a stop at a massive pharmacy and then it was off to LAX to catch a flight home. Virgin seems to be slowly going downhill as the staff seem to be taking lessons in rudeness from BA. Not usually what you expect from them...
