Wandered into Borders for what is their last day. Very sad and annoying, I would almost always come out with a magazine every time I went in there. Does this mean I'll need to get subscriptions to all my favorites that aren't stocked at any other news agent now? That takes the fun out of it, best start looking online...

Done is the word for retouch now, everything in only maybe a couple of small things to do for the New Year. So missed a few Christmas drinks with certain friends but managed to book one in today for the first day back at work in January!

Had a lovely meal with the Fish at Casa Don Carlos and then finished the evening with No Country For Old Men which was a great film.

Back to lists of the year and all that. A little insight into some of my pics of the year that didn't make the cut in the mag's poster special. My outright pic of the year was the Mariachi El Bronx shot for the opening spread of their cover feature. The idea to do something like that has been around for ages but been waiting for the right band. Easy really, camera on tripod, keep the light movements to a minimum and it will give you an easy piece together in the p-shop. If I get some time I'll piece together the other version and find a similar shot I did ages ago of a local Vancouver band called Buckle Up Russia.
